Spruce Grouse

Spruce Grouse - Falcipennis canadensis

The boreal forest is the preferred habitat for the Spruce Grouse. 



These birds are common in closed (dense forest canopy) conifer forests. The birds are often solitary and unusually tame for a wild species.
